안녕하십니까.
저는 현재 설계업무를 담당하고 있는 초보 엔지니어입니다.
비틀림과 굽힘을 동시에 받는 SCM420 재질의 shaft에 대한
강도검토를 하려고 합니다. 규정된 바로는 yield strength에
대해 1.5 ~ 2.0 정도의 안전율이 보증되어야 하는데요.
문제는 SCM420 재질에 대한 항복강도를 알 수가 없다는 것입니다.
제가 여기저기 다 찾아봤는데 이상하게도 SCM415,SCM420 재질에
대해서는 규정된 값이 없더군요.
혹시, 통상적으로 강도검토나 설계에 사용되는 항복강도 값을
알고 계신분은 좀 알려주시면 고맙겠습니다.
그게 아니라면, 인장강도(ultimate strength)를 사용할 경우
안전율을 어느정도로 해야 할 지 조언이라도 좀 부탁드립니다.

Because JIS G3441 (SCM Series) is for machine purpose, all of the seven grades do not have the minimum specified tensile strength (MSTS) and minimum specified yield strength (MSYS). The purchaser may have to require the tensile test and specify the required TS and YS (or including manufacturing process if need) if need. You have to discuss with your supplier for the required TS and YS if they do not meet your requirements. The values of TS and YS greatly depend on the manufacturing processes (S-H, S-C, E-G, or E-C).
S-H; hot finished seamless steel tube
S-C; cold finished seamless steel tube
E-G; electric resistance welded steel tube other than cold finished
E-C; cold finished electric resistance welded steel tube
However ASTM has some different requirements. For instance, even though ASTM A519 has a similar purpose, for Seamless Carbon and Alloy Steel Mechanical Tubing, it has MSTS & MSYS per manufacturing processes (HR, CW, SR, A, N).
HR; hot rolled
CW; cold worked
SR; stress relieved
A; annealed
N; normalized
Meanwhile the safety factor (SF) may be subject to the facility code if you have. It normally depends on the elastic, creep & rupture and fatigue design conditions as well as the severity of safety for the facility. Normally SF is 1.5-2.0 for YS or 2.5 to 4.0 for TS in elastic design of facilities of chemical plants.
Please find the attachment (only for reference) for pressure vessel and piping. The tables show the different SF per code.
