There are several reasons for magnetizing of austenitic stainless steel below.
1. Contamination of iron during fabrication
[Remedy to remove the magnetic property] Chemical cleaning on the metal surface
2. Phase transformation to plastic induced martensite structure during cold work
[Remedy to remove the magnetic property] Heat Treatment
3. Artificial metallic structure with delta ferrite (i.e. 3-11%) on weldment in order to
avoid solidification crack during welding
[Remedy to remove the magnetic property] Heat Treatment
I believe the root cause for your case may be No.1 and/or 2 above.
Please find the following for the heat treatment.
