 2001년 9월 11일~ 16일사이에 공작기계협회 주관으로.

독일 하노버 市 EMO HANNOVER 전시장을 참관하였다.

현 세계 공작기계 전시회는 미국 시카고의 IMTS, 독일 하노버의 EMO HANNOVER,

일본 도쿄의 JIMTOF가 있고, 이중 독일 하노버의 EMO HANNOVER가 가장 큰 규모이다.

전시장 면적은  469,655 m²(14만평) 총 26개 BOOTH로 구성되어 있고

출품 업체는  39개국에서 2,263 업체가 참가하였다.

금 회의 공작 기계 추이는

21세기의 첫 공작 기계 전시회로서 특색은 "SPEED"와 "CHANGE"라 요약된다.

"SPEED"면에서 이송 기구로서 BALL SCREW의 고속화와 SPINDLE RPM의 고 회전을

이용하여 고속 가공(HSM)의 형태로 바뀌어 CYCLE TIM의 단축과 고 품질의 면 조도를

달성하고 있고 "CHANGE"측면에서는 LINER MOTOR가

실용화되어 양산 공작 기계에 장착되어 출시되고 있고

차세대 공작 기계인 병렬형 공작 기계(Paraller Kiematics)도 3개업체에서 출품되었다.

RPD(RAPID PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT or RAPID PROTO TYPE)이 실용화되어

양산장비로 출품되고 있었다.
