The Interface Lead will have the technical coordination role related to the development of a pipeline of floating (or fixed) offshore wind projects in Korea including oversight on key functions such developing thedesign basis, Management of Change, Interfaces and identifying and mitigating key technical risks.

In close relationship with other team leaders he/she will facilitate communication between various entities, contractors to ensure smooth and lean interfaces in all activities.

The Interface Lead is in charge of the following.

Design Basis Of The Development

Through various workshops, discussions with project leads, engineering manager, developers, gather, arbitrate, and organize the general Design Basis of the developments which shall be approved by the shareholders.

  • Put in place template and organize regular updates through workshops
  • Ensure parameters are frozen at optimal time to ensure project schedule is not at risk and design is optimized
  • Manage the approval of the Design basis
  • Control and report the progress of the Design Basis dossier

Interface Management:

  • Develop interface management system for the project,
  • Put in place interface register,
  • Manage using EDMS the interface between various EPC FEED contractors.
  • Put in place system for EPC phase.
  • Manage in particular key interfaces between Permitting aspects, FEED and EPC
  • Put in place KPI and reporting system for the progress of the interface matters

Manage the major changes

  • Discuss value that such change may bring to the project in front of drivers
  • Assess impact the Statement of Requirement, agreed budget and/or schedule to FID.
  • Ensure approval from all necessary parties before implementation of change (Including
  • Shareholders).
  • Check change s well communicated to involved parties and control implementation
  • Record and control the overall process with KPI – Use EDMS when relevant

Technical risk owner:

  • Coordinate all transverse technical risks of the projects
  • Define with Risk manager and involved appropriate parties
  • Propose mitigation actions and control implementation

HSE

  • Adhere to and effectively communicate Project HSE Policies
  • Proactively intervene where HSE deficiencies are identified and report
  • Attend Project HSE meetings, training and inspection as when invited to
  • Consult HSE team in the execution and planning of key critical activities

Context and environment

Corio Generation (42.5%), TotalEnergies Offshore Wind Korea (42.5%) and SK EcoPlant (15%) are developing five offshore wind farms in Republic of Korea (more than 2.5 GW) under the name of BadaEnergy with a joint development and technical team based in Seoul and Ulsan.

Based in Seoul, you will be involved from the early stage of development, embedded into a young, dynamic, and multinational team. As Interface Lead of the portfolio, you will have to coordinate between technical teams, development/permitting teams taking care of all technical risks of the portfolio. You will put in place the general design basis of the portfolio, and put in place and coordinate the Change management and the interface management.

Your added value will be on your strong technical and communication skills coordinating between engineering, permitting activities with the target to converge on common design basis.

Candidate profile

This Role Requires

  • Degree qualified engineer
  • First working experience in engineering of offshore projects and/or wind project
  • Generalist engineer (Msc) but with experience and knowledge of offshore projects and /or wind farm projects
  • Knowledge of the offshore wind industry is not essential but would be advantageous
  • Good organization skills with the ability to manage own workload, meet timescales and coordinate a number of external and internal stakeholders
  • Adequate communication skills with the ability to enable effective discussion and transfer of information between contractors, team members and other stakeholders
  • Excellent knowledge of Korean and English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work as a member of a large, multidisciplinary and international team
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office
