Dear sirs,
I would like to request you to give good interpretation regading the following matter.
History
Welder qualification was done with NPS 2" pipe successfully.
As per ASME IX QW-452.3, the welder can weld OD 1" and over.
However, client has different interpretation like below:
The qualified welder can weld NPS 1" and over. If the welder wants to do welding NPS 3/4" pipe then requalification shall be done with NPS 1/2" pipe or NPS 3/4". In case of NPS 3/4"pipe welding, inner diameter of NPS 3/4" pipe is below 1" (25.4mm). That`s why requalification shall be done.
Please clarify shortly

ASME Sect IX QW-453-4의 요건을 충족하지 못하여,당연히 2"로 WQ된 용접사는 3/4" PIPE용접은 허용되지 않습니다.혹 더 작은 PIPE용접이 요구되지 않는다면 3/4"용 WQ를 실시하면 됩니다.

NPS 3/4" pipe 는 OD 가 1" 가 넘습니다. 그러므로 ASME IX 에 따라 합격된다는 것이 제 해석입니다.
