Head : Full
Shell: Spot

Nozzle, Boot

Compress(build6242)로 nozzle계산하였을 때,
Nozzle Logitudinal Joint Efficiency(Cat A Joint)가 1.0으로 들어갑니다.

1) Compress의 Nozzle A joint의 Eff 조정하는 방법

Joint Efficiency

Knowledgebase Article 1220
Question: How does COMPRESS consider the joint efficiency of a nozzle neck fabricated from rolled plate?
Answer: For shell components such as cylinders and heads, COMPRESS determines joint efficiency automatically based on the selected radiography and the Code paragraphs UW-11, UW-12 and Table UW-12.
To simplify the nozzle input dialog, it is not provided with a selection list for radiography even for cases where the nozzle is fabricated from rolled and welded plate. Instead, the joint efficiency for fabricated nozzles is manually entered in the appropriate input in the Areas dialog. To specify a nozzle joint efficiency, click on the Areas button on the nozzle dialog and enter the joint efficiency in the input labeled "Nozzle joint efficiency".
The following comments apply to specifying the joint efficiency for the nozzle neck:
1. When determining the nozzle reinforcing area per UG-37, the nozzle joint efficiency is treated as E=1.0 per the definition of "trn" in UG-37(a). "trn" is defined as the "required thickness of a seamless nozzle wall" so the joint efficiency used when calculating the required thickness of the nozzle for the purposes of area replacement is E=1.0.
2. Fully radiographed butt weld seams are addressed by Code paragraph UW-12(a). From UW-12(a), the joint efficiency to use will be 1.0 for a Type 1 joint and 0.90 for a Type 2 joint if the requirements of UW-11(a)(5) have been met. Because the Category D nozzle to shell corner weld joint cannot be radiographed, the requirements of UW-11(a)(5) are not applicable and may be considered as having been met. This means that the joint efficiency for a nozzle with full radiography on its longitudinal seam may be entered as 1.0 for Type 1 joint or 0.90 for Type 2 joint.
3. Joint efficiency for a nozzle longitudinal weld with spot or no radiography is defined by UW-12(b) and UW-12(c).
4. Joint efficiency for a seamless nozzle neck is defined in UW-12(d) and the rules for fully-radiographed joints may be used. The joint efficiencies will be similar to those listed in note `1` above.
5. The existence of a flange or other butt weld at the end of the nozzle neck does not alter the nozzle neck`s joint efficiency per the rules referenced above.
