API 660 9th Para 9.5.6 관련하여 하기 사항을 API660에 Interpretation 문의 할 방법이 없어서 문의 드립니다.

Q1) We understand the tube to tubesheet welds shall have a minimum of two weld passes.

However, Does it mean that the two passes shall be produced by GTAW only with filler condition ? (mean that non-filler condition with GTAW for the first weld pass of two weld passes is not acceptable)

Or, does it mean when filler condition is applied, filler condition shall be done only by GTAW ?

(mean that non-filler condition with GTAW for the first weld pass of two weld passes and filler condition with GTAW for the second weld pass of two passes is acceptable)

Q2) The para 9.5.6 calls Purchaser. What does the purchase mean ?

Contractor ? or Owner ?

Q1)을 국문으로 정리하면, two passes모두를 꼭 GTAW-filler condition으로 하라는 의미일까요? 아니면 filler materials 사용 할때는 GTAW로 하라는 의미일까요 ? 발주처에서는 two passes모두를 꼭 GTAW-filler condition으로 하라고 Comment 하고 있습니다. 위의 문의사항을 API에 문의해도 될지? 문의한다면 문의할수 있는 경로가 있는지도 문의드립니다.

9.5.6 Strength-welded tube-to-tubesheet welds shall have a minimum of two weld passes and be produced by gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) using filler material, unless otherwise specified or approved by the purchaser. 위의 요건은 두 패스로 용접을 해야하고(shall), 그 용접은 용가재있는 GTAW로 해야한다(shall)로 해석됩니다. 다만 '구매자가 따로 지정하지 않는한'입니다. 투 패스 & GTAW가 Mandatory로 보여집니다.

[추가 답변] Vendor: H-EX 제조사 Purchaser: H-EX 구매자 (Owner 또는 그 대행사) API std 660은 Vendor와 Purchaser가 해야할 일들을 제시한 Standard로서 ASME Sec. VIII, TEMA, 또는 HEI 등에 추가하여 Purchaser의 요청에 의거 적용되고 있습니다. 위 조항에 구매자의 별도 승인이 없는 한이라는 조건이 있지만 개인적으로 Shell & Tube Type H-EX (tube size 2 inch 이하) 에서 다른 용접 방법으로 적용한 /승인한 기억이 없습니다. 일반적으로 거의 모든 H-EX Project spec 에는 동일한 요구 사항이나 더 Severe한 조건을 요구하고 있습니다. 아울러 이것은 API에 문의할 사항이 아니라고 봅니다.

두분의 친절한 답변과 관심에 감사 드립니다. 발주처에 접수한 tube to tubesheet welding detail이 data sheet와 Engineering Dwg.상에 fillet joint & strength weld 라고 표기 해둔 바람에 이런 문의가 발생하고 있습니다. construction code는 ASME Sec.VIII Div.1이어서 코드에 근거하여 fillet joint는 strength weld가 아니며, 따라서 API660의 para.9.5.6 또한 해당없는 것으로 발주처에 다시 설명하려고 준비중입니다.

안녕하세요. 저는 생각이 좀 다른데요. 제가 이해하는 것은 "Purchaser 가 명시하거나 승인하지 않는한, 용접은 최소한 2 pass 이상 이어야 하며 그리고 filler metal 을 사용하는 GTAW Process 로 하여야 한다" 입니다. "(1) 최소 2 pass 이상 and (2) filler metal 사용 and (3) GTAW Process" 이 세가지 조건을 모두 만족해야 하는 것으로 보입니다. 수고하세요
